Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take you guys to build a website?

Good question! It depends on the size of the project, but we like to keep our timeline tight - under 8 weeks for a new, custom build under 5 pages.

Larger projects take more time of course, but we keep our work moving quickly so your website can be working for you in under 90 days even for big projects.

What does it mean to re-platform a website, and why would I want to do that?

Websites that have been around for more than 5 or 6 years need a refresh - in design (to stay current), but most importantly to ensure that your website is secure & safe for your clients.

If your website was built on Wix, Squarespace, or even WordPress, it's vulnerable to hackers for many reasons.

Therefore, we've dedicated part of our business to not only redesigning & putting a new shine on websites with a little rust on them - but to moving them to safer shores (platforms) like HubSpot (and to Shopify for eCommerce businesses). This process takes less than 8 weeks & shows great value to the business/organization owner & team.

Do you use AI at White Raven?

Yes & no. We have a great deal of respect for the tools & processes made available by the introduction of Large Language Model (LLM) AI in 2022 with the launch of ChatGPT & Midjourney - and we DO use those tools.

However, we use them sparingly, early in the process of creating copy/design - and with a heavy human hand on revision, editing, and retouching.

We are not a firm that is about creating a massive bank of content just for the sake of content. We create value, assistance, and ART here.

And AI helps us, but we keep our human skills sharp by doing the actual work as though the AI-generated work is clay on a wheel. Without human hands, it's just a blob of clay, no? :D

What does it mean to be on retainer with White Raven?

We have quite a few clients who keep us close & available to assist with tech questions & problems that inevitably arise in the day-to-day workings of their businesses for an agreed-upon & contracted fee.

We also often contract with businesses to provide a list of services monthly within a developed, clear scope of work.

After we've built a website, clients like to keep us on a retainer to manage their HubSpot hubs & advise them on tech stack decisions & updates.

At White Raven, we build community, not networks, or client lists. We help each other out in this economy that can be quite tough for all - often recommending clients who need what our clients do - & they do the same for us.

Fun Fact: Ravens actually build nests for more than just their own eggs. They build nest sometimes 6ft in diameter so their entire flock is safe & can raise their young together in a more healthy, happy environment. We just love that image. It's one reason we chose the raven to represent us. We're a lot like that. (We're also bird geeks in case you didn't notice).
